COUNTRYSIDE’- A NEW YORK EARTHWORK- 1993- Trump Property
Working with Trump Vice Presidents, the one acre Earthwork was created in 1993 with the help of 3 men living in shelters on Manhattan Westside, next to the Hudson Freeway. The 9 month odyssey was captured in the feature length movie ‘Earthwork’ created in 2011- staring the actor John Hawkes playing the artist role.
in celebration of the Minneapolis Institute of Art’s 100th anniversary, the museum commissioned stan herd to recreate Van Gogh’s ‘Olive Trees’ (in their collection)…on 2 acres at the nearby international airport…which got the attention of -
the JiCheng family in Yunnan China…A 4 acre permanent earthwork which took 2 years to build- Young Woman of China.
